In 2025, COVESA is testing a "call for participation" model for filling the non-technical portion of our program in Berlin, Germany (14-15 May 2025).
Here's how it works:
- A call for participation email will be sent to members and regular attendees of COVESA events with for session proposals and a link to this page. Proposals aligned to these themes will be given preference but proposals on other subjects are welcome.
- Interested parties download a proposal template, complete it, and send the session proposal to Sue Schmitt (sschmitt@inventures.com).
- The AMM program committee will review all proposals and select those that best fit the program.
- Submitting parties will be made aware of the acceptance of proposals by no later than the end of February. Some proposals may be accepted contingent upon suggestions made by the committee (e.g., combining 2-4 talks into a panel discussion on the same topic).
- If a proposal is not accepted, the proposer will be made aware immediately following the decision by the program committee.
The session proposal template is accessible here: Template
Completed proposals should be sent to Sue Schmitt (sschmitt@inventures.com) by no later than 15 February 2025.
Session Themes:
- Artificial Intelligence and Automotive (esp. Vehicle Data and related)
- Data Privacy/Consent/Authorization (Embedded and Offboard)
- Impacts of Regulation and Projects on Vehicle Data (e.g., EU Data Act, FEDERATE)
- Commercial Vehicles/Fleet Management
Rules for Session Content:
- No product/company marketing (other than to briefly position the expertise of the presenter)
- Presentations should align with current or future COVESA activities including usage of outputs or thoughts toward future outputs of the alliance
- Slides are expected and care should be taken not to be too verbose (panels may be conversational with no slides)
- Talks should have 1-3 actionable “takeaways” (emphasizing collaboration, openness, and tied to COVESA activities)
- The audience will be international so care should be given to speaking slowly and not using idioms that do not translate into other cultures
- Session content should benefit COVESA members, not just the presenter’s company
- Company confidential information is not permitted. COVESA reserves the right to post slides of all sessions.
The program committee will consider these rules as they evaluate session proposals. Proposals that appear to be company/product marketing will be denied immediately.
Timeline:
- Proposals Due no later than February 15, 2025
- Selections Made and Communicated by February 28, 2025
- Final Adjustments to Titles, Abstract, Speakers by March 15, 2025
- Online Schedule Finalized by March 30, 2025
Accepted speakers (not more than 2 per company per session) will be granted free access to the event. Travel and entertainment expenses will remain the responsibility of all speakers.
Questions may be sent to Sue Schmitt (sschmitt@inventures.com).
